Paint Party Friday - Week 3: Kitchen/Coffee Paintings

Two paintings finished!!! I even managed to sign them (something I find to be a major challenge). These are 6x6 and were done with a kitchen in mind.

(Mark to right of cup is on my scanner, I discovered. Fixed but not rescanned.)

Coffee Beans

I am thrilled that the Paint Party Friday check-ins have helped me make such progress in my painting goals! I did work a bit on my poppy painting, trying green for the stamen but again they got lost in the already dark center. Hopefully by next week I will have figured it out. Maybe yellow...

This is a page for my art journal. After I finished painting it (watercolours), I thought it looked rather nice and worth sharing. A classic old school. Now to write all over it!

    Wow - your art journal page looks fantastic - You did such a great job with the building and watercolors (I have such a hard time with architectural drawings).

    May I please have a cup of coffee? :) Great work! You gotta love those coffee beans. Perfect! I am a coffee lover. Kenya coffee beans, out of this world. I love your art journal page. I have a hard time with the lay of the land and buildings. Good job.

    Love the steam coming out of the cup. Will you be hanging these in your kitchen? Are you seriously going to write all over your watercolor? Can we see it when finished? Happy PPF. :-)

    Hey, Eva. I love your choice of colours in your paintings - the background brown is a lovely one.

    Your watercolour is lovely and delicate. Have you considered working over the top of it with some coloured pencils or even some watercoloured pencils?

    What are you intending on writing all over it?

    I love the warm colours in your paintings. I know what you mean about signing them-since getting married i've been trying out my new initials but they don't work as well as my maiden name! I really like your watercolour painting too. Lovely soft colours.

    I really like both of these- especially 'cause I'm a fool for coffee! But that pile of beans really speaks to me- you caught that depth of color and slightly oily texture of them perfectly!

    Oh, I love coffee and tea cup paintings! These will look fantastic in the kitchen. I have trouble signing my work, too. I really like your journal page. Lovely soft colors and clean lines. I hope you'll show it again, after the journaling.

    Love the coffee paintings - rich, warm, inviting colours that make me think I can smell the aroma of brewing coffee. If it wasn't so late in the day I'd make a cup right now :-)

    Your journal page is beautifully painted and it does seem sad to cover it but then I have a feeling writing on it will look cool too!

    What perfect paintings for the kitchen. Those are my fave colors to work with...so rich and earthy. I would love to see what they look like hanging up in your kitchen :) Nice curly steam rising out of the coffee

    I'm loving your coffee theme...the steam is perfect and makes the whole cup of coffee come alive. I got a nice, friendly jolt from just looking at it. :)

    So, I am sitting here drinking a cup of Chai tea, LOL!...but still love your cute and kitchen-ey little coffee canvases. The colors are very rich and soothing, and the details on the beans are great. Your school building is done very well, and you did a really nice job on the tree..which gives the piece great perspective. Congrats on getting two artworks finished and one almost finished! =)

    I really like the dimension you were able to achieve in the coffee cup..I find that really difficult! I hear you with the signature too, I need to figure something out for my own stuff!
