One of my favourite activities is snorkeling. Not something I can do much of in the cold white North. It doesn't take much to make me happy, just fishies - even a few Sergeant Majors will do it - however the more the merrier! It has been a while since I have been South and I have been yearning to go again. Finally I've scheduled a week in March on the Mayan Riviera where it sounds like there is good snorkeling off the beach at the resort. Meanwhile, I dream of....
(Initial Pencil Sketch)
I wasn't around the past few weeks of Sunday Sketching with Sophia at Blue Chair Diary and I have seriously missed all of you and the sketching! I'm looking forward to today's visit! Hope this finds you all well!
I am sure you will have a blast in Mexico! Really great snorkeling to be found
ReplyDeleteOooh I'm jealous, the Mayan Riviera sounds dreamy :)I'm not jealous of the snorkelling though....I watched Jaws when I was too young...keep expecting big teeth to suddenly appear :)
ReplyDeleteOoh look at all the pretty fishies. I wonder what they make of us strange intruders in their world.
ReplyDeleteThis is soooo fun!!!! I love how you kid just a perspective of the goggles and fish floating. how cool!
ReplyDeleteoooh, i m with you needing to go somewhere hot! A place where my goggles aren't the ski type!!!! lol!
i've missed you too! xxoo
This piece is very cool!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for a sketch. And I love the fish!
ReplyDeleteHi Eva! This is great! I love the fish! Oh I hope you have fun in Mayan Riviera! I need myself some sun, sand and fun!! I crave it!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are back, and with a wonderful sketch! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThis is a great sketch, you caught the perspective just right. Oh to have warm enough weather to go snorkling.
ReplyDeleteHave a great time snorkelling down south, your sketch must bring back fabulous memories.
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! Eva this is such a fantastic piece! I love it! I love the fact that you've captured so much going on with only a snippet of the face. Brilliant work!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is completely rocking! So very different for you and I absolutely love it. =)
ReplyDeleteHappy SS!
I've only been snorkeling a few times, but it was amazing! Great piece.
ReplyDeletewell done Eva
ReplyDeleteWow... such a fun look at the sea! Took a jaunt out for some fish for lunch today. Wonder which one I had, hmmm...
ReplyDeleteEva...I am glad to 'see' you :)
ReplyDeleteThis drawing is so fun...I have never been snorkling, and I have to admit I am a tad envious of your upcoming trip...sounds so warm and colorful...so much the opposite of winter :)
I like your zen clover, too. Never found a 4 leaf clover, but I won one in OWOH and I am pretty excited about that. I enjoyed the love story.
Love <3
You can really see the curiousity in the snorkler's eyes! And what better medium to use than watercolors for this piece!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comment.
Lucky, about the vacay, but I am terrified of swimming in the ocean so can't say it sounds fun from my perspective. I love the yellow and how it pops against the blues. Great job with composition, it really pulls one toward the snorkeler.
ReplyDeleteOhhh so jealous of your trip...It is so cold here too and this sounds like heaven! Love this drawing and so glad to see you back here!
ReplyDeleteSmiles and hugs!
I love your snorkel sketch, and also the sax-playing snowman.
ReplyDeleteHi Eva thanks for your comments on my latest painting, in answer to your question yes I do varnish every painting. But I take my photos before I do it as I use a couple of coats of gloss varnish and it's harder to photograph after doing that. I've tried matte varnish but I prefer the gloss, it gives it a lovely shine and makes the colours pop alot more. It also protects the painting and makes it easier to wipe if it gets dusty! :0)
ReplyDeleteHello from CED! I love the concept of this one, among the fishes. :)
ReplyDeleteI really love this view...fantastic.
