Last week I received and sent off the June Travelling Sketchbook (between our mail strike and various issues for many participants, these are starting to be delayed on their monthly voyages). The idea for the Sisterhood of the Travelling Sketchbooks is to paint (and talk about) that month, so this is what I did for June in Carmen's book...
The cardinals have been singing like crazy here (and still are). It is wonderful to see glimpses of red in trees or on power lines or flying through the air. They have also inspired some of this week's index cards for my ICAD (Index Card A Day) project.
Have a wonderful Paint Party Friday!
so wonderful to see your bird art. Each one is lovely.
ReplyDeleteLove the red cardinal against the blue background. For a second I though he was wearing sunglasses! Well, he is a musician, after all.
ReplyDeleteLOL -@carlarey - he IS wearing sunglasses! And indeed for that reason.
ReplyDeleteOh how great! Your cardinals are just awesome. I love the way he is singing right onto the next page. Very clever. Great job. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteHappy PPF :) Love your cardinals, I wonder if they got their name from the catholic cardinals, I think they wear red?? Or maybe it's the other way around? Love the book & vibrant colours :)
ReplyDeleteThese are great!!! You know cardinals have been around here too. I do not rememeber a year that I saw so many!! They are so beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteThere are just superb! I LOVE the way you wrapped the music notes around the writing...it adds a nice depth and for the ICAD I love them all but that first one of the cardinal in flight kinda knocks my socks off..cartwheels for you!

Love the cardinal. I wish we had them here. I have only seen one in my life and that was when I was visiting relatives in Nebraska. Beautiful bird and painting.
ReplyDeleteEva, what cheerful pages! I love all that gorgeous red. Thanks again for hosting PPF, to which I am fairly new. I don't drink canned tea since it doesn't taste like fresh brewed and also it has citric acid which does a number on my stomach. My daughter accused me of being a connoisseur of fast food iced tea, because I can detect the differences in the brews at McDonalds, Wendys, Chic-fil-a, Arbys, etc. Nothing beats Luzianne brand of tea bags.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful striking colors, and I love the sense of movement in the second one!
ReplyDeleteAwesome work!
Just fab! Love the flow of the song bird's notes and the striking colours of each piece. Have a wonderful weekend x
