Paint Party Friday - Finishing my Sea Star!

It was a satisfying week as I finally made some progress and actually finished another painting!! Yay!!

A bit over a month ago I started to paint a sea star/starfish to hang in my bathroom. And after the initial spurt of focus....there it sat, on my desk. This week I picked it up again and finished it off. I just put it on the hook in the wall....

Is this the right way up?

The view from the "throne" (in the evening with all the lights on... weird shadows)

Scanned close-up (I need a bigger scanner bed!)

Trying to decide which way it should go? This way? ( A)

 Or this? (B)

Or? (C)

 (D)?

 
This is another photo in the room where it will be hanging (not this location - the power outlet was just a convenient spot to hang it!) I think it coordinates well...

    Yay! I'm so glad you finished it! I think the details you've added are wonderful and it goes perfectly with everything in the bathroom :) I love the way you have it hanging because it looks like the star is dancing! (I also thought the shadows were stripes on the wall - like that too!)

    How in the world do you get it to look 3-D. It looks like an actual starfish that you found and glued onto the wood. Wow, great work. Blessings, Janet PPF

    Great painting and I would be really evil with this and make my husband stand there and look at it from every angle, and then start again all the while asking... but which way do you think looks best... oh the fun I would have with this... happy PPF xx

    The starfish you painted amazes me. As one who lived in Florida, I would say it looks so real and you have it the correct way hanging on the wall!

    Eva, your starfish is just wonderful! I like version B. Version C never showed up on my computer so it may be my fave. Just don't know. However, I think the piece is beautiful, no matter which way it hangs. Faye

    I love your starfish painting- the texture on him really POPS! And I vote for "C" as the way to hang it, tho' one of the best things about canvas is you can alternate the way you have it hung as your mood allows :)

    Beautiful! This has to be my most favorite piece of yours..it is magnificent! I love the whole textured feel and depth and feeling to this piece.also love the backdrop colors..wonderful palette...the starfish is aweseom...very iconic and meditative...i love starfish..this is dazzling and beautiful..it looks FAB in your home..shine on!

    I don't think there is a right way up for that Starfish it really looks terrific all around!
