Earlier this year I started a painting that I called "Wheat Fields". I sort of liked it but it needed something more. My wonderful Paint Party Friday friends gave me lots of suggestions as to how to finish it off. Thank you everyone for all the feedback and suggestions!
It sat and sat, and I finally came back to it and this is how I finished it (or at least I think it is finished...)
"Wheat Fields"

(This is where I left it last time...)
What do you think - is it finished or does it need something else?
Hope everyone has a great weekend. I'll be by to visit as weather permits - if rainy (again!) sooner and if sunny then later as the weeds hide my flowers and my flowers call to be rescued...
Amazing changes! I think it is now perfect! Wow, I really like it. The wheat stalk in front, the birds taking you into the distance, gives wonderful perspective! Bravo!
ReplyDeleteFall colors? Very sweet and dreamy ♥
ReplyDeleteI like it, especially with the stand out wheat stalks in front! :^) patsy
ReplyDeleteTo do anything else might ruin it. We need to know when to quit. Lovely painting. HPPF.

ReplyDeleteLove where you took this! My favorite part is the 3-4 stalks of wheat that you painted in the front- they look like they are blowing in the wind!
ReplyDeleteIt's always amazing how you can change things around with paint. Thanks for showing the transformation. I think the question is, do YOU think it's done? Happy PPF!

The foreground is wonderful, I aladiria any cloud on the horizon. saludos
ReplyDeleteThe birds were just the right touch and the mountainy backdrop also gives it the depth it needed to feel more spooky.
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect- my eyes went to the last photo first and I really liked that but thought some black or birds would really make it fantastic. Then I saw what the finished psinting looks like at the top and it is ....fantastic. :-)

ReplyDeleteHi Eva. I like how it came out. The composition is great, as the viewer travels around the painting from the wheat to the birds, and back again to the wheat! Great job. :-) Happy PPF!

ReplyDeleteThank you for your get well wishes, Eva. Yes, that is a self-portrait from a photo I had a friend take of me for one of the Daily Paintworks Challenges. I added the dripping paint to the final painting.

Beautiful wheat field, very peaceful!
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful! It has so much more depth now.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see this again, and how you developed it. I like the depths you added, with the wheat stalks in the foreground and the birds flying away in the background. I think I might try to blend the moon a little bit into the gorgeous purple sky, but otherwise it looks finished to me.
ReplyDeleteIt's finished and it's perfect!

ReplyDeleteHi Eva, I think your painting came out beautiful. I think it is a good idea to always be working on few paintings because sometimes things are not working right and then it is good to keep that one at the side and work on another..
